Combs Waterkotte represented a Northeast Missouri man on charges of 1st degree murder and armed criminal action in Adair County, Missouri. The prosecution alleged that our client committed 1st degree murder after having thought about shooting his stepfather earlier in the day, suffering from a panic attack, and then blacking out and murdering his stepfather. We vigorously defended the case from the outset and prepared for trial asserting that our client acted in lawful defense of his mother. After a four-day trial, the jury took just 90 minutes to render a NOT GUILTY verdict on all charges. Our client sat in jail for 14 months on a million-dollar cash-only bond. He was freed minutes after the verdict was announced.
