Christopher Schulze is a law clerk at Combs Waterkotte, where he plays a key role in supporting the firm’s attorneys through discovery review, case investigation, legal research, motion drafting, and trial preparation. With a sharp analytical mind and a meticulous attention to detail, Chris excels at identifying weaknesses in the prosecution’s case, providing invaluable insight that strengthens the firm’s defense strategies.
A St. Louis native, Chris is a proud graduate of St. Louis University High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee—an academic background that enhances his critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the legal field. Currently, he is pursuing his law degree at St. Louis University School of Law, with the goal of becoming a criminal defense attorney upon graduation.
Chris has gained extensive hands-on legal experience through internships with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Capital Defense Office and the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office. These experiences have given him a well-rounded understanding of the criminal justice system from both the defense and prosecution perspectives, further shaping his passion for advocating on behalf of the accused.
Outside of the legal world, Chris enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with his dog, Otis. His dedication to justice, combined with his intellectual curiosity and strong work ethic, makes him an integral part of the Combs Waterkotte team.
